wind

today i got all dressed up and went to the hill. the wind was so fierce that it almost blew my door off when i opened it. then when i opened my trunk, it almost blew that off, too. then i tried to put my jacket on but my jacket blew away and i had to go chase it. then i took the triple up because it was the only lift open. i was all by myself, but didn't really care because it was too cold to talk to anyone anyway. i hiked up lord to the top of the double and skied upper national. the snow was super deep in some places, but in others, not so much. o i also saw two renegade snowmobilers up on the hill, probably practicing for the x games or some crap like that. after skiing upper nat, i cut into the woods and skied the lookout woods. it was super awesome, and the drifts were wicked deep. i was really tired at the bottom, but still managed to ski lower starr. i love lower starr because back in my coaching days, we used that section to work on a particular skill. i still do it to this day. i love skiing over the ice that's in the middle of the trail. i used to call it the 'fun stuff' because, although it's not really fun in the traditional sense, if you alter your brain into thinking that it's fun, then it becomes so. one run, one hour, tons of fun.
